It is really strange that the capitalists who are always seeking profit, why they would invest in big mosques. Mosques are sacred places and mostly non-profit institutions.
Before going deep into the topic I would like to comment on our common political psychology. Actually, we don’t want change, we don’t wish for justice, we don’t like equality, the slogans of change are merely rhetoric; more wealth, more power, and more importance are still status symbols. We like to be distinguished, we like to be honored out of the crowd, and we don’t like equality. I don’t know why we are lying to ourselves that we actually like change or equality, no one is ready to surrender his wealth, status, and respect for a common cause.
We feel honor when we escape the law. We proudly tell everyone that police won’t check my pockets because of a black coat; we feel respect when our car is not checked because of green plates. Power and wealth are still our values.
With such a sick mentality how could we even think of a political change!
If everyone wants more wealth then how can we nab the corrupt capitalists, a capitalist has more power to buy your loyalties. This has been our political culture since the foundation of Pakistan. Everything and everyone is for sale, just the price is different. Everyone wants more wealth whether legal or illegal. Where Islam is in that entire scenario, even religion has failed to cure our corrupt habits. I was wondering, why people don’t know the difference between legal (halal) and illegal (haram) in a country where there are 95% Muslims.
The reason is that bigger mosques are built by bigger capitalists and led by the bigger clerics. Isn’t it? Remember, Malik Riaz, one of the greatest capitalists, built Pakistan’s largest mosque at Bahria. In this scenario how a small cleric can denounce a bigger capitalist. Even small mosques are funded by local drug dealers and fake medicine sellers. Please don’t take me wrong, I’m talking not about every mosque…
That’s not all! Most clerics are innocent themselves, but they subconsciously support and aver the corrupt capitalists. One of the biggest clerics, Mr. Tariq Jamil, who is really an honest person, led the funeral of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz (the wife of the biggest corrupt capitalist). The clerics shouldn’t be criticized as they are not guilty themselves, they are just a victim of bloody capitalism. That bloody capitalist-backed stratagem and collective-national-ignorance has even manipulated our religious philosophy and created that subconscious reverence for corrupt capitalists: It has deliberately hidden the Prophet (PBUH)’s the real struggle against the capitalist mafias. Prophet (PBUH) and his army fought 95 wars against such mafias ending socio-economic disparity and orchestrating a political system based on egalitarian concepts.
From the above arguments, we can analyze why capitalists are interested in investing in mosques. 1. The capitalists want to keep us busy with religious issues, sectarian problems, and rituals concerns so that we can’t realize the real philosophy and struggle of the Prophet (PBUH). 2. They think that Investment in mosques can save them from God’s vengeance.
A commoner can only invest Rs. 5-10 thousand Rs in mosques, whereas mafias can invest millions……

With such mal-practices from top to bottom in our society, we are putting the whole burden of morality on a single person, Imran khan. In fact, the message of change given by IK was not communicated as it was supposed to be. We have not changed ourselves and neither ready for it.
Sadly, the mosques which were meant to end interest-based-capitalism are now being funded by the same ill-gotten money.
Change comes to those who change themselves.
